The Stallions are committed to providing a quality youth track and field and cross country experience.  It is our desire to help families presently experiencing financial hardship.  Each year, the Stallions board reviews available funds to provide financial assistance to families in need of support.  This program is known as the Stallions Financial Hardship Grant Application. The financial assistance is generally limited to part or all of the club registration fees only and shall not exceed 50% of the total annual cost (club fees, team fees, uniforms, registration) without special circumstances, additional volunteerism, and documented evidence of need.

GRANTS ARE FOR INDOOR, XC & SUMMER SEASONS ONLY

We shall uphold the following guidelines in reviewing grant applications:

Inclusion
Financial Assistance is not an athletic “scholarship.” No approval or disapproval of an application for Financial Assistance shall be based in whole or in part upon an applicant’s relative skills or ability in the sport of track and field or cross country. No guarantee of assistance is implied in this application.

Volunteer Time
Team expects each player and/or parent or guardian receiving financial assistance to volunteer time to support us in addition to the Stallions family volunteer requirements.  The amount of the volunteer time is at the discretion of the Financial Assistance Committee and is based, in part, on the consideration factors listed below.  By accepting Financial Assistance, families agree to this volunteer participation.

Payment
For applications to be considered, the applicant shall have completed their team registration, including full payment of the non-refundable deposit  of 50% of the registration fees for the season requesting hardship consideration. You may submit applications but athletes can not attend practice or compete until deposit has been paid. Applications will not be considered if the deposit fee is not paid.

Additionally, Grant recipients will submit a payment of $100 to the Financial Assistance Committee.

Making the Request
The applicant’s parents or guardians shall apply using the application form found on the Stallions website.  Grant requests must be submitted to the Stallions Financial Assistance Committee no later than two (2) weeks prior to the regular registration deadline. Grants will not be awarded until one week prior to the registration deadline.  The amount of the grant awarded (if any) may be a partial or full grant depending on the number applicants, and amount of funds available. Scholarships are awarded for one sport per registrant and are only valued for one sport at a time, therefore, individuals must reapply for each sport and year they are requesting assistance.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED 2 WEEKS PRIOR of EACH SEASON.

Evidence of Need
The applicant’s parents or guardians seeking financial assistance shall provide a statement of need as part of the application form.  We reserves the right to request additional evidence of need at its discretion.

Factors to Consider

  • Participation by an adult family member in at least 15 hours of voluntary service to the Stallions Elite Team during the sport season. Volunteer work will be under the direction of the Texas Stallions Elite Track Team volunteer coordinator or other designee.

  • Application must be completed by a parent, guardian, or head of household, with all requested information provided. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Financial assistance funds benefiting as many participants as possible

Note: Factors listed above are considerations to be taken into account by the Stallions Financial Assistance Committee and are not intended as the only criteria for awarding Financial Assistance.  Due to limited funds, some requests may be denied.
